The Learning Center and EmployAbility Program
The Learning Center is designed to offer free in-person coursework and training—in a variety of subjects—for people to access based upon individual interests or goals. The Learning Center courses include (but are not limited to): daily living skills, creative arts, money management, socialization and relationship-building, fostering a healthy lifestyle, traveling, cooking, and computer literacy. Additionally, the Learning Center offers community-based application experiences (an opportunity to implement or apply skills) via practice at local: art galleries, museums, gyms, parks, zoos, grocery stores, libraries, and restaurants—among others.
The EmployAbility Program is designed to assist people with individual employment and/or vocational goals. The EmployAbility Program supports include (but are not limited to): writing resumes, completing job applications, resume-building (via experience and/or certification), developing skills to fulfill standard employment requirements, and developing skills to fulfill employment-specific tasks or responsibilities.
Non-Medical Transportation
Non-medical transportation is provided for those enrolled in Modern Support Services’ Learning Center. This service offers people access to free transportation in order to travel: to, during (for any community-based activities), and from scheduled program dates.
Homemaker/Personal Care and Transportation Services
Homemaker/Personal Care and Transportation Services are designed to assist people with individualized service needs—within the home and community. Homemaker/Personal Care and Transportation Services provide one-on-one support to accommodate each individual’s presenting needs (up to an intensive level of care).
Homemaker/Personal Care and Transportation Services supports include (but are not limited to): personal care and/or hygiene, activities of daily living (e.g. cooking, cleaning, money management, etc.), scheduling and attending medical appointments, shopping, completing household errands, and attending special or preferred events/activities—among others.
Shared Living
Shared Living is designed to offer people similar types of services—provided in Homemaker/Personal Care and Transportation Services—all within a shared living setting. The Shared Living setting is defined as: the home in which an individual receives services/supports from an adult caregiver and/or service provider who resides in the same home. The adult caregiver may be: a family member, friend, loved one, significant person, or any other individual whom is selected by the individual receiving services.
Shared Living supports include (but are not limited to): personal care and/or hygiene, activities of daily living (e.g. cooking, cleaning, money management, etc.), scheduling and attending medical appointments, shopping, completing household errands, and attending special or preferred events/activities—among others.
