Meet Our Team
Founder, CEO, and Executive Director
Jack Darakjian
Jack has been the founder, CEO, and Executive Director of Modern Support Services since its inception in 2000. Jack established the agency with the aim of providing individualized home- and community-based services for people within the I/DD community (intellectually and/or developmentally disabled) and other presenting psychological, physiological/biological, and socio-recreational needs. Jack founded the agency with the goals of enhancing people’s quality of life, promoting independence/self-sufficiency/autonomy, improving advocacy, empowerment, expanding community outreach, developing resources, encouraging equality/opportunities, and growing accessibility. The same sentiments, vision, and goals extend to the foundational principles of MSS Therapeutic Centers. Aside from his work at Modern Support Services, Jack holds active positions as: an LA County Commissioner (Commission on Disabilities – appointed by Kathryn Barger), Campbell Center Board Member, Provider Review Committee Member (with RCOC), Advisory Council Member (with Disability Organizing Network/DONetwork), and Homelessness Advisory Board Member (with the LA County District Attorney). Jack’s commitment to human services, passion for helping others, and background as a mental health worker (UCLA/NPI) have lent itself to increasing reach, opportunities, and resources for community members—within multiple states.
Clinical Director
Ani K. Krecker, M.S., LPCC#19437
Ani has had the pleasure of working with Modern Support Services since 2015—in varying positions and capacities across the agency. This has allowed her to work closely with clients, families, interdisciplinary teams, and agency employees to improve, enhance, expand services, and develop programs. Aside from the latter, Ani maintains a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and California licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). Ani has maintained active clinical practice since 2019 within various mental healthcare settings (community mental health agencies, schools, and private practice). Through her academic and licensure pursuits, the idea to expand MSS’ services to include mental healthcare and psychotherapy arose.
